The Rules of Conduct are part of the Terms of Service; you accept them when you register. They make sure everyone in Nareth plays with the same chances.
1. Cheating and automation
Forbidden:
- cheat programs and modified clients – any program or file change that interferes with the game and gives an unfair advantage (e.g. speed, position or damage hacks, walking through walls, memory editing);
- bots – automatic control of a character without a human, even partly (auto-hunting, auto-loot, auto-heal);
- macros – keyboard or mouse macros that automate repetitive actions;
- exploiting bugs for an advantage (e.g. duplicating items or gold, attacking through walls, claiming rewards repeatedly);
- bypassing, reverse-engineering or attacking the game, the server or the anti-cheat (Easy Anti-Cheat).
Report any bug you find through the in-game Ticket system – reporting in good faith is never sanctioned; exploiting is.
2. Account and trading
- Your account is personal; it may not be transferred, sold or bought.
- Real-money trading (items, gold, characters, services) outside the official channels is forbidden.
- Taking over other people's accounts, phishing for passwords and impersonating the team are forbidden. Game masters never ask for your password.
3. Behaviour
- Harassing or threatening other players, hateful, offensive or illegal content, and inciting cheating or rule-breaking are forbidden.
- Advertising, spam and promoting other services are forbidden.
- Character and guild names must not be offensive or imitate another player or the team.
4. Sanctions
Depending on the severity and repetition of the offence:
| Level | Meaning | |---|---| | Warning | a written warning | | Temporary ban | the account cannot log in until the ban ends (hours to weeks) | | Permanent ban | the account can never log in again | | Account deletion | in severe cases the account and its characters are deleted |
- A ban applies to the whole account (every character). Items and gold gained by breaking the rules may be removed.
- Cheat programs, bots, macros and exploits can lead to a temporary or permanent ban even on the first offence.
- In unambiguous cases of cheating the game server may suspend the account automatically for 24 hours; in every other case a game master decides after checking in game.
- You can dispute a sanction via the contact given in the Terms; the team will review it.
5. Changes
We may update these rules as the game evolves; we announce important changes on the website.
