Runebinding is how you fine-tune your gear: you reroll a single property of a weapon or armour piece, and all its other properties stay untouched. A nearly perfect item no longer has to be thrown away over one bad line.
The Runebinder
Runebinding is done by the Runebinder, who stands next to the smith in every city – right where you forge your gear (see Item Upgrading).
How it works
- Bring the item to the Runebinder and choose the property you want to reroll.
- Pay the price: gold and rune dust.
- A new property takes the place of the chosen one – every other property of the item stays the same.
Rules
- You reroll one property at a time; the rest stay in place.
- You can bind the same property slot again and again until you're happy with it.
- On the same item, every further binding costs more than the last.
- Runebinding cannot be bought in the Item Shop: better gear comes from playing, not from paying.
Runebinding and the Binding Enchant
The two tools are opposites:
| Tool | What stays | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Runebinding | every other property | the one property you choose |
| Binding Enchant | the one property you choose | every other property |
