Your abilities grow along with your character: every ability has five ranks (I–V), topped by the Legendary rank. Progress is predictable – there is no luck involved and no failed attempt.
Ability points
Every time you level up you earn ability points, which you spend in the Abilities window (V) across the abilities of your class's two paths. An ability can be raised until it reaches your current rank cap.
The cap: Order Trials
Every class belongs to an order, and the order's master puts its disciples to the test. Every Order Trial you pass raises your ability cap by one rank.
| Level | Order Trial | New ability cap |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | Trial 1 | Rank II |
| 60 | Trial 2 | Rank III |
| 120 | Trial 3 | Rank IV |
| 180 | Trial 4 | Rank V |
| 240 | Trial 5 | Legendary |
The orders:
| Class | Order |
|---|---|
| Ironvowed | the Iron Vow |
| Moonshade | the Silent Hand |
| Ashcaller | the Ash Knights |
| Runecaller | the Runevoice Circle |
| Dark Elf | the Order of the Shadowspear |
Order Seal
The Order Seal is the orders' token of recognition and the material for the Order Trials. If you have more than you need, an NPC will exchange them for gold.
